01 / The Whole House

One contractor for the entire home.

The biggest project you'll take on — and the one where a single accountable crew matters most.

A whole-home renovation is a different animal than a single room. Every trade touches every space, the schedule has to be sequenced right, and one weak link — a sub who no-shows, a design that doesn't account for the plumbing — stalls the entire house. It's too big a project to hand off in pieces.

Interior Restorations takes on the whole thing as one licensed general contractor — design and layout, structural changes, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchens, baths, flooring, windows, and finishes, all in-house and all on one schedule. Because we also rebuild homes after water and fire, we know how to open a house up, deal with whatever's behind the walls, and put it back better than new. It's the deep end of our remodeling & additions work — and if you want to add square footage while you're at it, we fold in a home addition too.

Whole-home renovation FAQs.

Still not sure? Call or text (949) 283-3952 — we're happy to talk it through.
How much does a whole-home renovation cost in Orange County?+
It varies widely with the size of the home, how much you're changing structurally, and your finish level. Because it touches every room and system, we scope it carefully and give you a detailed, honest bid up front so there are no surprises once we start.
How long does a whole-home renovation take?+
Most run several months, depending on scope, structural work, and permitting. We phase the work room by room and give you a realistic timeline covering both the approval phase and construction — with one crew on the job to keep it moving.
Can I live in my home during the renovation?+
Sometimes, if the work can be phased so part of the house stays livable — but a full gut usually means moving out for a stretch. We'll tell you honestly what's realistic for your project and plan the phasing around it.
Do you handle the design and layout?+
Yes. We take it from concept and space planning through material selections and construction. For major structural changes we bring in and manage our own engineers and partners, so you have one point of contact for the whole project.
Do you pull all the permits?+
Yes — a whole-home reno typically involves multiple permits across structural, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work. We pull every one your city requires and manage all the inspections as part of the job.
Can you add square footage as part of the renovation?+
Absolutely. Many whole-home projects include an addition or a second story. We fold that into the same design and schedule — see our home additions page for how that works.
