01 / The Situation

The fire's out. The damage isn't.

Soot and smoke keep working long after the flames are gone.

A fire is over in minutes — but what it leaves behind keeps causing damage. Soot is acidic, and it etches into walls, cabinets, and metal. Smoke seeps into drywall, insulation, ductwork, and belongings, leaving that sharp burnt smell in everything it touches. The longer it sits, the more it stains and corrodes.

Interior Restorations is a licensed, IICRC-certified general contractor serving all of Orange County. We clean the soot safely, neutralize the smoke odor at its source — not just mask it — and rebuild what the fire took, from framing and drywall to the final coat of paint. One crew, working directly with your insurance from the first inspection to move-in.

Fire & smoke FAQs.

Still not sure? Call or text (949) 283-3952 — we're happy to talk it through.
Can the smoke smell really be removed completely?+
Yes — when it's done right. We don't mask it with air freshener; we neutralize odor at the source using air scrubbers, thermal fogging, and sealing of affected materials. If a surface can't be fully deodorized, we remove and replace it.
Do you work with my insurance?+
Yes. We document the damage with photos and a detailed scope, work directly with your insurance adjuster, and bill the claim — so you stay out of the paperwork.
Do you repair the fire damage or just clean it?+
Both. As a licensed general contractor we handle the full job — soot and smoke cleanup, odor removal, then the rebuild of framing, drywall, paint, and finishes. You won't need a second contractor.
Is soot dangerous to clean myself?+
It can be. Soot is acidic and can contain harmful particles, and improper cleaning often drives it deeper and stains permanently. We recommend leaving it to trained, IICRC-certified crews with the right equipment.
Can you save my belongings?+
Often, yes. We clean and deodorize salvageable contents, and carefully document anything that can't be saved so it's covered on your insurance claim.
How long does fire restoration take?+
It depends on how far the fire, smoke, and soot spread. After the inspection we give you a clear timeline and an honest, detailed estimate up front — no surprises.
